Exercise Recognition and Repetition Count Wireless Device

Abstract:

The motivation behind this device is the lack of a successful commercial product that accurately classifies and counts exercises done in a gym workout. People who go to the gym like to keep track of progress in a quantitative way, and this product is an attempt to deliver this. Using two sensor nodes on two different parts of the body, we keep track of X, Y, Z acceleration and flex data in order to be able to classify an exercise and count repetitions. The exercises are classified in sections of 5 repetitions, but counted exactly.
